This legislation can be introduced in state legislatures nationwide. Resolutions urging legislators to support the Track the Bullet Initiative can also be introduced by City Councils and County Commissions.

 

Legislative Proposal:

 

Should consist of a free standing bill that amends the Firearms Law in your state to require the tracking of ammunition. A clear definition of ammunition must be included in the statute. Additionally, a section requiring government agencies that may have enforcement of the statute or have jurisdiction for intervention and prosecution to require identification marks on all ammunition developed and/or sold in the state should be included.

 

Current law does not prohibit the sale, purchase or possession of ammunition by lawful gun owners. Any legislative proposal should include certain limitations to protect the interests of legal gun owners.
